How To Hide Pictures From Gallery Without Using Application Or Software
How to hide images from android without using applock
After a long time, I am back again with an article related to android topic. Most of you want to hide pictures, videos and files from your device but at the same time if you use app lock, someone might ask you to remove it and guess what? Your privacy is leaked.
While AppLock or any software doesn't guarantees you 100% privacy, I am here with a simple and easy to work trick that will help you take full control of your privacy and stay safe.
Let me share an interesting story with you about how I came over idea of writing this post:
I met a friend earlier today who was facing problems to hide his girlfriend's photos from Gallery. I told him to use app lock and apply pattern but he told that his parents would ask him to remove pattern as well and steal his privacy. So I took his phone and used this simple trick to hide images without using any kind of software.
Anyone can get in such troubles because of many reasons. If you are facing the same then don't worry for now. On this article, I am going to write about the exact same trick that I used to hide those images from my friend's android.
How to hide images without App Lock on android
Follow the steps below to make hide any image or video from gallery without using any application or software:
Step 1:
Go to File Manager and choose or create any secret or system folder e.g. Android that your friends won't detect.
Step 2:
Inside that folder, create a new folder and rename it to ".nomedia" without quotes.
Note: I recommend you to use ES File Explorer with 'root explorer' enabled to access files.
Step 3:
The folder will disappear after you've created it. Now open menu by tapping on three vertical dots at top right corner of your screen.
Step 4:
Choose settings and check "Show hidden files" . Press back button and now you can see that newly created folder is visible.
Step 5:
Locate those images that you want to hide. Select them and tap on 'move' them at once.
Step 6:
Go to ".nomedia" folder and paste those files there.
Step 7:
Again open menu and remove tick from "show hidden files and folders" option. The folder will disappear again and so do the files inside it.
Final Words:
You can now go to gallery and check if those photos still appear. You will discover that there will be no sign of such images. If you want to make them appear again then perform step 4 and copy/move those pictures in different a location. Hope this trick works.
